The treatment of recurrent parathyroid cancer is generally surgical removal of the primary tumor—with or without removing the lymph nodes—or debulking the tumor to reduce the production of parathormone. Under investigation are the combinations of surgery with radiation therapy , radiation therapy alone, as well as chemotherapy .
